Shopian Ambush a woman was killed after a group of insurgents attacked a government forces patrol in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said on Thursday.
Army’s patrol in Mulu Chitragam area of Kashmir’s Shopian district came under fire on Thrusday, the sources added.
Sources told Kashmir Dispatch that a group of insurgents opened fire on army’s patrolling party from 44 Rashtriya Rifles in which seven soldiers were injured. The attack took place at 2 am.
“In the attack seven army soldier sustained critical bullet injuries,” sources said, adding that the injured soldiers were immediately shifted to army hospital.
However, three injured soldiers succumbed to injuries, sourced said.
Sources told Kashmir Dispatch that the insurgents group managed to escape after carrying out the attack. However, an extra contingent of forces rushed to the area to combat the insurgents hiding in the area.
